Elmo has been a favorite television character for children for years. He has dazzled them on the Sesame Street television show as well as in books and videos. Kids love this character. If your children love Elmo, too, then there are awesome crafts that you can do with them. They will have a lot of fun applying their imagination and creative skills. It’s also good because you will have direct interaction with your kids. You could call this ‘quality time.’
Elmo dolls are notoriously expensive. They are also usually very hard to find once the holiday season comes around. Instead of waiting in line for hours and then shelling out much of your hard earned money for something like this, your kids can make their own Elmo dolls. Instead of a stuffed animal, though, this will be a felt animal. At a fabric store, pick of some colored felt, including red and black. When you get home, cut out various bits of fabric in order to comprise Elmo’s body. Next, let your kids assemble their new Elmo doll and glue the pieces in place. Not only will they now have a doll of their own, but they will have the pride in the fact that they made it themselves.
Another fun thing to do with your kids is to make Elmo wall hangings. You can make these out of construction paper and coloring utensils. This can be done with coloring crayons, colored pencils, or even finger paints. Then the kids can hang up their new pictures on their walls or on the refrigerator.
