Some Excellent Elmo Party Menu Ideas with Stromboli

Elmo is one of the most popular sesame street characters of all time. Maybe you remember the tickle me Elmo craze with some people reselling their pre-bought Elmo’s for a huge mark up just before Christmas. Still, it’s not really that bad, as it showed just how good the products were. So now you need to throw an Elmo themed party. Well, luckily it’s pretty easy to do, first of all the color of choice is red the same as Elmo. Then, some Sesame Street decorations such as the street sign, big bird and others, with Elmo being the main focus. You may also find some interesting ideas for the menu of your party.

An Elmo party menu will be oh so tasty if you plan it out just right before hand. Start everyone off with some yummy Elmo Sugar Cookies with furry frosting! Just make up regular frosting, add some red food coloring and plenty of shredded cocoanut to it for that furry monster look. Since Sesame Street is all about learning mix up some Alphabet soup for your Elmo fans to slurp up at the party. On the side have a zesty Stromboli, Elmo style. You’ll find that it disappears faster than the cookies.

Stromboli for your Elmo party menu is quick and easy. Follow any white bread recipe you wish, and while you’re at it mix in a few drops of red food coloring. Roll out the dough and lightly butter or grease it. Place a thick layer of your favorite Italian meats and cheeses like Provolone, Mozzerella, Pepperoni, and Ham on the rolled out dough. Roll it back up and place on a lightly greased pan. Lightly grease the outside of the Stromboli and place in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

One of the things they don’t teach on Sesame Street is to use paper plates, napkins, and plastic utensils, but nonetheless you should make sure to stock up on plenty of them.

Fun With Easy Elmo Crafts

Elmo has been a favorite television character for children for years. He has dazzled them on the Sesame Street television show as well as in books and videos. Kids love this character. If your children love Elmo, too, then there are awesome crafts that you can do with them. They will have a lot of fun applying their imagination and creative skills. It’s also good because you will have direct interaction with your kids. You could call this ‘quality time.’

Elmo dolls are notoriously expensive. They are also usually very hard to find once the holiday season comes around. Instead of waiting in line for hours and then shelling out much of your hard earned money for something like this, your kids can make their own Elmo dolls. Instead of a stuffed animal, though, this will be a felt animal. At a fabric store, pick of some colored felt, including red and black. When you get home, cut out various bits of fabric in order to comprise Elmo’s body. Next, let your kids assemble their new Elmo doll and glue the pieces in place. Not only will they now have a doll of their own, but they will have the pride in the fact that they made it themselves.

Another fun thing to do with your kids is to make Elmo wall hangings. You can make these out of construction paper and coloring utensils. This can be done with coloring crayons, colored pencils, or even finger paints. Then the kids can hang up their new pictures on their walls or on the refrigerator.
